An INFO file is a generic text information file that may be included with various software programs or file downloads. It contains unformatted plain text that describes the contents of the software or download. INFO files are often used to document version information, authorship, and copyright information.

dwergs says ( 27 Feb 2004 ):MSN Messenger 6 is all about 'expressing yourself' and from now on you can also send just about anything you draw with your mouse directly as an instant message -so-called 'ink message'- to your contacts!
Just download InfoPen and show off your creative skills, just like Timothy did in the screenshot to the right :p
You contacts don't need this software installed to receive the images, but tell them to download it from Mess.be if they want to try it out themselves!

New Custom Game: Minesweeper
dwergs says ( 27 Feb 2004 ):JimmyL is on rampage! Another Java game contribution from the french developer. This time he revamped Minesweeper and added a little stressfactor to the gameplay.
Also, Koen recently restarted his development efforts in order to deliver Backgammon as the next custom MSN Messenger game!
BTW, respect to Neil for redesigning games.mess.be! It looks terrific... along with the popularity index added by Koen (Hangman's your favorite folks!)

.NET Messenger Service took another maintenance break

More Messenger Plus! 3 News
dwergs says ( 25 Feb 2004 ):As announced previously, the upcoming new version of Messenger Plus! focuses on user interfaces. Most of the original windows created one year ago for Plus!2 have already been redesigned, the preferences panel included. The new preferences are better organized, more clear, and with more options.
Of course, despite what some of you are thinking right now, there will be brand new features in Plus!3, including but not limited to:
- Word Filtering, when you receive and when you send (see screenshot).
- Redesigned Quick Icons with 5 configurable panels, automatic custom emoticons detection,...
- Plugin preferences panel to enable/disable/configure plugins differently in each account (see screenshot).
- More multi-format options: 68 pre-defined colors, special auto-formatting panel, ... (see screenshot)
- Text Search function (see screenshot).
- Helper panels to select commands or enter command parameters while you chat
- No more permanent chat messed-up. Plus! now has a built-in auto-fix feature that detects placement errors in a chat and fixes them.
- Auto-accept feature for file transfers and other requests (like web cams). This feature can be enabled for specific contacts only if you want.
- The Personalised Statuses have been redesigned, the options are more clear and you can choose who receives your automatic message.
Again, this is just a preliminary list, there's much more to come. It's safe to say that the final version will be released sometime at the end of March or at the beginning of April.

Openwave links to Microsoft features
dwergs says ( 25 Feb 2004 ):The world's largest software maker said that it had joined with Openwave to develop software to be featured on the smaller company's latest version of specialized software for cell phones.
Both companies said the decision to offer such Hotmail and MSN Messenger features was in the hands of wireless network operators. The new software platform, called Openwave Phone Suite V7 Platform, will be offered beginning in March.
Although access to Hotmail and other e-mail systems has long-been available to mobile phone users through software provided by companies such as Openwave, the deal extends such capabilities to a wider range of phone models, including many current>Display Picture Special: Academy Awards
